Sushi king Warisan Square

My family and I went to Sushi King last Sunday, because my mom said it is better to dine out since its a little late to come home and prepare lunch for the family. Much to our delights, we like to have a lazy day outing on Sunday. So I suggested Sushi King since I have a coupon of RM30 from HSBC, yay. Having been watching my diet lately, Japenese food seems really enticing to me nowadays. There're 5 of us, first we order 3 sets of slightly fried Salmon and rice with miso soup set, a set of prawn tempura with rice and miso soup, beef teriyaki set for my bro. We took 2 dish of appetizer from the moving conveyer belt while waiting for our order, in the photo shown here is actually fried salmon skin which is absolutely yummy. We have green tea to quench our thirst (which is refillable). All our meal cost up to RM85, with RM30 discount coupon and another 10% off from being Sushi king card member, I ended up paying about RM50 for 5 people, not bad at all. In KK there are few branch of sushi king, which is in 1 Borneo, Citymall, Centre Point (Palm Square) and of course Warisan Square.

Apam balik

This is my old time favourite, you can find it everywhere in market, in west Malaysia, they sell it at Pasar Malam or night market, in Sabah you'll find it in Tamu or weekly bazaar. Apam balik is my favourite because I love sweet things, it's a thick Malaysian version of pancake spread with crushed fried peanut, sugar and margerine. It might look a little like the western pan cake but unlike the western version, while the bottom side is cooked, the topside is covered with generous amount of crushed peanut, sugar and margerine (sometimes they added corn to give it sweet flavour). Just when the bottom turn golden brown, it is folded in half, and ready to be served. Normally at Tamu in Putatan or around Penampang, it normally cost from RM1-RM1.50, and it served up to 10 pcs too. Now, now..one for each person ya..by the way, best to eat it while it's hot and with your favourite hot drinks.

Ocean Cafe

Last night I was supposed to go for a farewell dinner of a colleague at D' Pokok Cherry Cafe nearby and I was all ready too. Then just when I about to tell my parents I am off to the dinner, my dad said,"We are just about ready to go too, so wait a minute." I was flabbagasted, apparently my parents and I aren't in the same frequency here. so I asked where are "we" going? My dad said,"aren't you getting ready for your bro's birthday dinner?". I told him I know nothing of that dinner and I explained about my plan for the night, which is now I have to cancel. Apparently my mom did not tell us there's a dinner tonight. So everyone at home has to make way for my bro impromtu dinner since he doesn't often come home after going to UITM. So we off to Ocean Cafe along the Penampang-Putatan by-pass. The food is ok, we had Ocean Vs Inland set, Chicken Chop, fish and chip and I have for myself Catch of the day. I can't say I really love it, it's decent size and taste but nothing to rave about. The waitress asked my drink order 4 times before she was sure I am actually ordering for ice white coffee. Besides having an incompetent waitresses, I think the food is alright. As you seen the food we ordered, they are mostly western.
